How to Add Indicators on MetaTrader 4 Charts

Step 1: Open The Software Platform Navigator Window Panel

Open Navigator window such as shown below - Navigate to the 'View' menu (then click on it) and then select and choose 'Navigator' window (press), or From Standard Toolbar click 'Navigator' button or press key-board short-cut key 'Ctrl+N'

On Navigator window, choose and select "Technical Indicators", (DoublePress)

Step 2: Expand the Technical Indicator Menu on the Navigator

Expand technical indicator menu by clicking the magnify button/tool imprint '+' or double click 'indicators' menu, after that, this button will then now appear as (-) & will now show as a list like is illustrated and shown below.

From Above panel you then can add any indicator that you as the trader want on the chart.

Placing ATR on Trading Chart

Step 1: Select the Average True Range button on the MT4 list of indicators such as shown below:

Step 2: Double click the Average True Range Button, & click okay to add the ATR on chart just as shown below:

Edit Indicator Settings

To Adjust the Settings, rightclick in the ATR, choose properties setting and then edit the properties of the indicator using the pop-up menu that pops and then click ok button once you've changed the setting.
