Place ATR Indicator on Chart in MT4

This Tutorial will show you how to place the Average True Range Indicator on a Chart on the MT4 platform. For Analysis: Analysis of Average True Range.

How to Place Indicators on MT4 Charts

Step 1: Open The Platform Navigator Window

Open the Navigator panel as illustrated below - Navigate to 'View' menu (then click it) & then select 'Navigator' panel (click), or From Standard Tool Bar click 'Navigator' button or press keyboard short cut key 'Ctrl+N'

On Navigator window, choose "Indicators", (DoubleClick)

Step 2: Expand the Indicator Menu on the Navigator

Expand the indicator menu by clicking expand button mark (+) or double click 'indicators' menu, after that, this button will then now appear as (-) & will now show as a list as illustrated below.

From Above panel you can then add any technical indicator you want on the chart.

Placing ATR on Trading Chart

Step 1: Select the Average True Range button on the MT4 list of technical indicators as pictured below:

Step 2: Double click the Average True Range Button, & click okay to add the ATR on chart as shown below:

Edit Indicator Settings

To Adjust the Settings, rightclick ++oon the ATR, select properties setting & then edit the properties of the indicator using the popup menu that appears & then click ok button once you've changed the setting.

Following pop-up window appears & Average True Range Technical Indicator settings can be edited from this pop up window.
