How to Add Indicators on MetaTrader 4 Charts

Step 1: Open The Software Platform Navigator Window Panel

pen the Navigator window, as seen below: navigate to the 'View' menu (then click on it) and then choose the 'Navigator' window (press), or select the 'Navigator' button from the Standard Toolbar, or use the keyboard shortcut key 'Ctrl+N'.

On Navigator window, choose and select "Technical Indicators", (DoublePress)

Step 2: Expand the Technical Indicator Menu on the Navigator

To open the technical indicator sub-menu, click the magnification tool/icon marked with a '+' or perform a double-click on the 'indicators' entry: following this action, the button will invert to a '-' display and subsequently present a list as illustrated and shown underneath.

From the above panel, you can add any indicator that you, as the trader, desire on the chart.

Placing ATR on Trading Chart

Step 1: Click on the Average True Range button in the MT4 indicator list as shown below:

Step 2: Click the Average True Range Button two times, then click okay to put the ATR on the chart just like shown here:

Edit Indicator Settings

To implement setup changes, right-click on the ATR indicator, select the properties configuration, and proceed to edit the indicator's properties through the displayed window, clicking "ok" once the adjustments are complete.
