An account serves as the digital portal for conducting online trading activities. A trader must first establish a dedicated xauusd trading account and then successfully log into this gold trading account to execute transaction orders within the electronic marketplace - Defining the Account.

Before you start any XAUUSD gold trades on MetaTrader 4, you have to log in and get your account authenticated. Basically, you just need to make sure your username and password are correct so you can access your account.

To begin trading in the MT4 Platform, just press on the 'File', then select and click "Log in" button key from the file drop-down menu just as is shown below.

As a gold trader once you press this login button, then a pop-up window panel will appear requesting you to put your Username & Password just as shown:

After you enter your username and password, pick the server. For a demo account, choose "Demo" here. For a live gold account, select "Real" server. Click the drop-down arrow on the right of the text box to do this.

Then tick the box 'Save Trade Account Data'

Then Click 'Sign In '

Once you click login your login details and particulars will be authenticated & you will then have access to your MetaTrader 4 account & when logged in to your gold trading account you can begin to trade & place new orders in the market on the MT4 platform software. If you do not have gold login details and particulars you can get these details & particulars by opening a practice account with a xauusd trading broker. To login to a real xauusd gold account you'll need to open a real trading account first with your gold trading broker.

Once you sign in, you can check your account balance and set up your trades. To make sure you're in the right xauusd/gold account, check the details - just like you see below. Open the Navigator window by pressing CTRL+N on your keyboard.

If you have many xauusd gold trading accounts on the same MT4 platform, these accounts will all be listed on this option, you can doubleclick on the account icon to choose the trading account you as the trader want to login to from this navigator panel window.
