To see the charts toolbar in MetaTrader 4, go to View near the top left. Click View, then Toolbars, and check Charts. The toolbar will show up above.

Once above charts tool bar, pops up you can then select and choose the type of charts you as the trader want to convert to & trade with, If you as a trader want to view using the bar chart format, click the bar charts tool button like illustrated above, for line charts format press the line charts tool button, for Japanese candles charts format click the "candlesticks charts tool button".
