How to Back Test an Automated EA on MetaTrader 5
To back test a trading Automated Expert-Advisor in MetaTrader 5 you will need to first setup the Expert-Advisor on your MT5 platform.
Once you've downloaded and installed the EA on your MT5 platform follow the step by step guide below to back test your automated EA in MT5.
- Open the MT5 Strategy Tester Window
- Select the Automated Expert you want to test
- Select the instrument you want to test the EA on
- Choose the Time-frame that you want to use
- Select the begin date & end date for the Expert Advisor Back Testing
- Specify Your Starting Amount you want to test your Expert-Advisor with
- Choose the Leverage that you as the trader want to test your Expert-Advisor with
- Specify Visual Mode on or off - Visual Mode On will display when the Expert-Advisor opens trades and closes trades on the chart as the Expert Advisor is Being Back Tested on the MT5 Strategy Tester Environment
