Account Log In

Before opening any trade on the MetaTrader 4 platform, you'll be required to sign in to your MetaTrader Trade Account & get authenticated before gaining access. Authentication is confirming to see if the authorization login credentials/details you provide for User-name & Password are correct authorization login credentials/details for your MetaTrader Trade Account.

To start trading in MT4, just press on 'File', then choose & click "Log in" button key from the file drop down menu as depicted below.

As a gold trader once you press this login button, then a pop up panel will appear requesting you to put your Username & Password such as illustrated below:

Once you in put your Username and Password you'll then have to select the server: because this is a demo trade account, for this instance you'll then select and choose 'Demo', if it was a live MetaTrader account/live account then you would have to select 'Real' Server on this option by clicking drop-down arrow on the right side of the above text box.

Then tick the box 'Save Trade Account Information'

Then Press 'Log In '

Once you click sign in your details & particulars will be authenticated & you will then have access to your MetaTrader 4 account & when logged in to your MetaTrader account you can start to trade & place new orders in the market on the MetaTrader 4 software. If you do not have MetaTrader Account login details and particulars you as a trader can get these details & particulars by signing up a practice trading account with a MetaTrader broker.

Once you login you can then check your account balance and set up your trades. To know that you have signed in to the correct MetaTrader Account you as a trader can check the details & particulars as shown below: (You will need to open Navigator Window: Keyboard Short Cut Keys, Press both CTRL+N on your keyboard)

The above example Shows the details & particulars of your MetaTrader 4 practice demo trading account on the Gold trade platform work-space after you have logged in, whether it is a practice account or a live account as well as the account login number and the account name.

A demo trading account will have a green cartoon icon while real account will have a xauusd cartoon icon, when you open a live account you'll know what this statement is talking about. Just know in the above picture where there a green cartoon you'll now see a Gold Cartoon.

If you have many MetaTrader Accounts on the same MetaTrader 4 platform software, these will all be displayed and listed on this option, you can double click on the cartoon icon to choose the one you as a trader want to login to from the place.
