Moving Average Analysis & MA Trading Signals
This refers to an indicator that computes the mean value of prices (or any dataset provided) across a duration that has been predefined.
The main thing that makes different kinds of MAs different is how much importance they give to the newest numbers. Simple Moving Averages treat all the numbers the same. Exponential & weighted averages give more importance to the newest numbers.
Interpretation
The most common way to use the MA indicator is to look at how the Moving Average of the price moves in relation to the price itself. A signal to buy is created when the price goes above its Moving Average, and a signal to sell is created when the price goes below its Moving Average.

Moving Average Cross over Strategy
Also favored are various methodologies based on Moving Average (MA) crossovers. Such trading approaches typically involve the intersection of two or more MAs above or below each other, frequently incorporating additional technical indicators to serve as supplementary signals for trade entry and exit. The possible combinations of conditions defining these trading systems are virtually endless.
