Sometimes support & resistances are formed diagonally in a similar way like a stair case. This forms a trend which is a sustained movement in one direction either upwards or downwards.
A trend line indicator depicts the points of support & resistance for the price, depending on the direction of the chart. For an upwards trend - trendline indicator will shows the points of support and for a downward trend - trendline indicator will show the levels of resistance and they are mainly used by many investors to determine these resistance & support areas.
Trendline is a straight line that connects 2 or more price points then extend into the future to act as areas of support or resistance. There are two various types: upward trend line & downwards trend line. Trendline indicator is an aspect of analysis that uses line studies to try and predict where price is likely to move. - The overall direction of market prices - up/down.
- The strength of the current move - and
- Where future support & resistance will be likely located
If trendlines form in a certain direction then prices usually moves in that particular direction for a period of time until a time when the trendline is broken.
