Keltner Bands are based on the ATR indicator, and these bands utilize ATR values to draw the lines.
Bollinger Bands form volatility channels that allow traders to identify market trends.

Keltner Channels
Construction
Keltner Channels work a lot like Bollinger Bands, but there's a key difference. Bollinger Bands use standard deviation to measure market volatility and draw the bands, while Keltner Channels don't.
Keltner Channels use average true range for volatility. This replaces standard deviation.
This stock indicator is an n number of periods exponential moving average of the closing price. These channels are developed & created by
Adding (for the upper line) and
Subtracting (for lower line)
An (n period simple moving average of an n period ATR) * an ATR multiplier.

This stock indicator can be transacted in much the same way as a Bollinger Bands.
Continuation Trading Signals
When price moves & heads outside the bands then a continuation of the present trend is implied. A buy stock signal is when the channels are moving upwards and sell stock signal is when the channels are going downwards

Reversal Indices Signals - Double Top & Double Bottom
When you see tops and bottoms forming outside the bands, then followed by new tops and bottoms inside the Keltner channels, that's usually a sign the trend could reverse.

Ranging Indices Markets
When markets stay within a range, a move that starts at one Keltner channel usually goes all the way to the other channel.
