Is ADX a Leading or Lagging Commodities Indicator?
Is ADX Commodities Technical Indicator a Leading or Lagging Indicator?
ADX technical indicator is a lagging commodity technical indicator because ADX technical indicator is used to confirm the commodity trend after the commodity trend has already formed.
ADX indicator is used to confirm an upward commodity trend or a downward commodity trend.
ADX values of above 20 are used to confirm a commodity trend and ADX values of above 30 signals a strong commodity trend either upwards or downward.
Traders combine the ADX technical indicator with the DMI technical indicator of +DI & -DI - this DMI index indicator is used to show the direction of the commodity trend.
Upward Commodity Trend
When the +DI is above -DI this indicators an upward commodity trend
Downwards Commodities Trend
When the -DI is above +DI this indicators a downward commodity trend
After determining the trend of the commodities trading market the ADX technical indicator will then be used to confirm the commodity trend once the ADX technical indicator value goes above 20.
Once a commodity trend is formed the ADX technical indicator will keep going up as long as the commodity trend keeps gaining momentum.
ADX indicator value should remain above 20 & this is a signal that the current commodity trend is holding.
Once the ADX values go below 20 - this might be interpreted as a signal that the current commodity trend is losing momentum and the current commodity trading might reverse if the ADX technical indicator value remain below 20.
ADX indicator can also be combined with other buy & sell commodity indicators such as RSI and MACD - and commodity signals generated by the ADX indicator can be confirmed using these additional commodities trading technical indicators.
