Getting Started with MT4 Trading Platform Web Browser Platform - MT4 Web Based Platform
The MT4 Web Based Platform is the web platform version of the MT4 for PC Desktop Platform. MT4 Web Trader Version provides the same look and feel for the MT4 platform as that of the MT4 for PC. The MT4 trading software is a Forex software that is installed on a client's computer and it is intended to do the following:
- Plot forex charts Information about exchange rates in the form of a grid/chart
- Receive Streaming forex currency quotes from the Forex brokers
- Perform trading operations: Buying and Selling of currencies
- Show the open forex trades and forex orders
- Perform technical analysis on forex charts
- Testing of trading strategies on Forex demo accounts
- Provide account statements of trading history and a summary of profits/losses.

MT4 Web API - MetaTrader 4 Trading Platform Web Based Platform - MT4 Web Browser Platform will be similar to the MT4 platform interface that is shown above only that forex traders will use a web browser to login to the MT4 Web Trader platform. From the Web browser MT4 platform forex traders can open trades, interpret forex charts and get a summary of trading account balance, open forex orders and open forex trades.
The
Forex traders can use MT4 Web API - MT4 Web Based Platform when they are trading from another Desktop computer that does not have MetaTrader 4 platform software installed.
MT4 which is also referred to as MT4, is designed to provide trading tools that can be used by traders to make trading decisions. The Forex software provides online quotes and streaming data about currency movement. This information is delivered directly to the MT4 platform. This information that is delivered in form of real time quotes is then analyzed on the MT4 software using technical forex trading tools provided for within MT4 fx trading platform.
The MT4 software is a free platform that is provided for by Forex brokers. You can download the software from online broker's websites, once you download it, you should then install the platform on a computer PC that has an internet connection and then connect to your broker & begin receiving streaming quotes. The MetaTrader 4 has different window & chart panels each designed to deliver a different type of market data data, starting with the forex exchange rate quotes used to draw forex charts to the Market data window, MT4 Toolbars for attaching technical indicators to the forex charts and the main menu bar used to navigate the MT4 platform.
Installing MT4
To install MetaTrader 4 you'll have to download the trading platform, then launch the download, from there a set up wizard appears & all you've to do is to follow the set up instructions. After setup the platform will run automatically just like any other software. You can launch the MT4 from the begin menu.
With the MetaTrader 4 forex account forex traders can login to either the MT4 Web API - MT4 Web Based Platform or the MT4 desktop platform and get access to their forex account from either of these two forex trading platform.
