Once you start your MT4 platform you will have to login to your MT4 Real account before starting to practice on this MT4 Real account.
To Sign in to MT4 Real account, press on File Menu then click Sign in as illustrated on the MetaTrader 4 software example illustrated & explained below:

Sign In to Account - MT4 Sign In Authorization for Trading Real Account
Specify your trading Real account login number and password, the server you can choose using the down arrow - for Live trading account select - Real Server. Tick the "save log in information" and click sign in - Gold MetaTrader 4 Sign In . This is known as authorization - MetaTrader 4 Log in Authorization, every time before trading you will have to perform authorization by log in to your real account - typing the account details - and the MT4 platform checks if the login account details are correct through this process of MetaTrader 4 Login Authorization.
