Gold trades can also be made against their traders, meaning the broker can bet against what the traders are doing with their open trades.

In this context, the broker may execute a trade that aligns contrary to the trader's position: therefore, if the gold trader incurs a loss, the broker gains, and vice versa if the trader profits.
