Place On Balance Volume Indicator in Chart on MetaTrader 4

The OBV volume indicator can be used as a reversal indicator, gold exit indicator or xauusd entry indicator. This OBV indicator tutorial will explain how to add the OBV indicator on a Chart on the MT4 Software - MT4 platform.

How to Place OBV Indicator on MT4 Charts

Step 1: Open The Platform Navigator Window

Open the Navigator window as illustrated below - Go to "View" menu (then click it) & then choose "Navigator" window (click), or From Standard ToolBar click "Navigator" button or press keyboard short cut keys "Ctrl+N"

On the Navigator panel, choose "Technical Indicators", (DoubleClick)

Step 2: Expand the Indicator Menu on the Navigator

Expand the menu by clicking expand button marker (+) or doubleclick "indicators" menu, after this the button will then now appear as (-) and will now be shown as a listing as illustrated below.

From the Above panel you can then add any technical indicator you want on the chart. The OBV volume indicator can be used as a reversal indicator, gold exit indicator or xauusd entry indicator.

Placing On Balance Volume Trading Indicator on Chart

Step 1: Select the On Balance Volume button key in MT4 list of technical indicators as displayed below:

Step 2: Double click the On Balance Volume Button, and click okay to add the OBV Indicator on the chart as shown below:

Edit OBV Indicator Settings

To Adjust Settings, right click in On Balance Volume Indicator, select properties setting & then edit the properties of the technical indicator using the popup menu that pops up & then click okay button key once you've changed the settings.

The following popup window appears & On Balance Volume Trading Indicator settings can be edited from this pop up window.
