Definition of a Channel in Stock Trading

A channel can be defined as a trading range for stock within which the stocks price moves within in what is known as a stocks trend.

The channel can be an upward stock channel or a downwards stock channel.

Traders use stock channels to analyze stocks price movements and determine what trade to take depending on the signal generated by the technical analysis of the stock channel.

An upwards stock channel is drawn by plotting a line that's parallel to the upwards stock trend line & then adjusted to touch the tops boundary of the stocks price movement.
