How to Log in to MT4 Platform

To trade with MetaTrader 4 Stock Platform you will need to first of all enter stock account details - The MT4 stocks platform will prompt you to enter you stocks account details and you as a trader can use enter your stock account login details by clicking the File tab on the MT5 platform at the tops left corner of MetaTrader 4 stocks platform, then choose the Login to Trade Account option & then enter your stocks account details - stock practice account details for MetaTrader 5 stock demo account & stock live account details for MT4 real stock account.

How to Open a Stock Instrument in MT4 Software

To open a Stock instrument go the MT4 Market Watch Window select the stock instrument that you want to open and double click on the stock instrument to open the stock chart for this stock instrument.

You can also tap the click to add button key at the bottom of the MetaTrader 4 Market Watch Window Panel to add a stock instrument that isn't listed on the Market Watch Widow.

How to Open a Stock Trade in MetaTrader 4 Software

To open a stock trade on MT4 software right click within the stock chart and choose the New Order Widow to open a buy or sell stock trade.

A trader can also open the New Order window on the MT5 platform by clicking the MT4 shortcut key - F9, stock traders can press F9 to open the New Order window panel.

From MetaTrader 4 New Order panel a trader can open a buy or a sell stock trade by clicking the Buy by Market to open a buy stock trade or clicking the Sell by Market to open a sell stock trade. From this stock new order trade window a trader can also specify the stock lot size which they want to buy or sell.

Stop-Loss Level can be set when opening a new stock trade in MT4 platform. On the New Order window provided on the MetaTrader 4 platform there is a field for Stop Loss - this is where a trader will specify the stop-loss level for their open stock trade.

How to Place a Stock Pending Order on MetaTrader 4 Software

To place a stock pending order open the New Order Window on the MT4 platform, then change the stock order Type from Market Execution to Pending Order.
